Our retail store and web/mail order business operate out of an old limestone storefront, which was built as a grocery store in the 1870’s. Originally my store began as a bicycle store. When we added Birkenstock sandals to our inventory, the response was so strong, the store morphed into a Birkenstock concept store. Early on we noticed that more than half our customers drove in from out of town. That led us to believe there was an opportunity to reach out-of-towner customers with mail order catalogs. That in turn led to our web business. Though we now have lots of other brands, we don’t really think of ourselves as a traditional shoe store, rather we believe we provide foot health and comfort, one customer at a time. We have been doing that for the last 45 years.

We are a small business with strong ties to our local community. There are just a handful of people working here. If you have a Birkenstock need, question or repair, we can probably help you with it.

Though we love our Birkenstock footwear, we realize that they may not be the perfect choice for every use or occasion. We have looked at hundreds of shoe brands and found our personal favorites that we think will make you happy. In addition to Birkenstock, our longtime favorites are Dansko, Haflinger, and Chaco. We wear what we sell and daily work with customers in our retail store trying on all the shoes you see on our website. We have feedback from thousands of people. So don’t be bashful, we can answer most any question you might have.

Our website is here for your convenience. We do our best to make it informative and easy to use. However, nothing can replace human interaction. We are here to provide the things an automated website can’t. We look forward to speaking with you!
