All-Day Walking Shoes
These sneakers were monumentally comfortable

Birkenstock
Honnef City
We walked nearly 10 miles each day during our two weeks in Paris, on sidewalks, cobblestones, gravel paths, and stairs... so many stairs!! The Honnef City has more structure and support than a typical sneaker, which gave my high arches great stability on the varied surfaces. I was a bit worried about the light color, but the textile and suede camouflaged dust and dirt remarkably well. These sneakers were cute with jumpers, dresses, shorts and jeans.

Bend
My husband's go-to shoe in Paris was the Bend. (He brought two pairs!) The rubber sole provided great grip and shock absorption on sidewalks, cobblestones, and stairs. The gray suede did an excellent job of masking dust and dirt and paired well with his summer wardrobe of blues, grays, and beiges. The business-casual style was easy to for him to wear with chino shorts and slacks.

Parisian Chic Perfection
Opéra ready, Métro friendly, très chic

Dansko
Rowan
After all day on my feet it was nice to kick off my sneakers and socks and slip into these airy and adorable Danskos for our evening stroll to find dinner in our neighborhood. They are comfortable enough for all day wear, but our days were loosely planned and I wanted the ability to be spontaneous, without worry of pebbles in my shoes if I decided to meander off the sidewalks and into un beau jardin. For an all-day museum marathon, however, these would be parfait! This style is easy to dress up or down. (BONUS: they pack nice and flat in your suitcase.)

Papillio Wedge Heels
Paris is known for its fashion, of course, and I wanted to dress up occasionally without sacrificing comfort. These Papillio wedge sandals were magnifique! I wore them to attend a matinee performance of the Paris Opéra Ballet, and while we didn't do as much walking that day, these heels were comfortable traversing the Métro system (stairs!) and for the several miles of walking that we did. I also wore them to some of our dressier dinners. (TIP: Keep an inexpensive emery board in your purse; if an unlined leather strap is cutting into your foot, simply file the back edge of the leather a little bit to feather and soften the area that's causing discomfort.)

Madrid Big Buckle EVA
We rented an apartment for our two weeks in Paris, and having never stayed there before, I wasn't sure what to expect. I wanted a clean pair of shoes I could wear indoors (and in the shower, just in case!) Fortunately, our apartment was fabulous, but I still wore my Madrids as slippers, to help my feet recover from our long days of walking. The soft EVA foam feels amazing on tired feet, and the one-strap style is simple and cute.

A Surprisingly Delightful Day Pack
This très chic Sherpani went everywhere with me

Sherpani
Esprit AT
I passed on this style for years, thinking it was a little big and clunky, but I bought it at the last minute, worried my Sherpani Metro might be a little too small as my day pack. Am I glad I did!! It was comfortable and functional on either the right or left shoulder (front or back, but I prefer the front for security). My 17 ounce water bottle fit perfectly in the exterior sleeve, freeing up the main interior pocket for my sunglasses case, visor, a light shawl, and more. I used the chair loop lock for peace of mind in busy cafes, but when I didn't feel the need to fuss with the lock, the bag hung easily over my knee or laid flat in my lap as I sat. The pocket on the strap was perfect for a lip balm and a small sunscreen stick, but it can hold much more if needed. The front zip pocket was a secure and wonderfully convenient place for my phone, Métro card, and museum tickets. It even had a leash for my apartment key. In the flat padded pocket at the back I stored my e-reader, sketchbook, and museum maps. Pratique!

Easy-Access Wallet
(I didn't use it as intended!)

Sherpani
Vienna AT
The Vienna is labeled as a passport wallet, and that's initially how I planned to use it. However, I ended up keeping my passport in my Tulum (next review). Instead, my Vienna was the perfect solution for keeping my Métro card easily accessible and preventing it from getting bent and damaged. (Métro tickets can be loaded onto your phone, but I preferred having a separate card for security.) The Vienna fits perfectly in the front pocket of my Esprit next to my phone, and with the open side of the wallet facing the zipper, I used it like a mini folder. I could take out and put away my Métro card quickly without even needing to remove the wallet from the pocket. It was a handy spot for museum tickets, too, which often need to be scanned several times during a visit. Cards and tickets for which I didn't need quick access were easily organized in the sleeves and pockets, along with a small amount of cash. Et violá!

Classic Wallet for Valuables
Held everything and stowed away securely

Tulum
The Tulum wallet has been my go-to for a while now. It has great organization and I like that it can be a standalone wristlet, but it also fits easily into most medium size purses. For travel, I kept my passport in the zipper pocket. I clipped the wristlet strap to the small red claw clip in the main interior pocket of my Esprit, to attach the wallet to my bag for extra security. The strap was long enough that I could still remove my wallet without needing to unclip it from my bag. When not in use, I kept my Tulum tucked away safely in the main compartment's slip pocket. BONUS: When used as a wristlet, a standard size cell phone fits in the zipper pocket.
(P.S. There are no differences between the original Tulum and the Tulum AT other than colorways- both versions have the same security features.)

Men's Day Pack
Simple and secure storage for him (or her!)

Sherpani
Metro AT
My husband wasn't used to carrying a bag before our trip, but we knew he would want a crossbody to keep his belongings safe and secure for travel. The Metro's simple and sleek design was an easy choice. He kept his 17 ounce water bottle in the main compartment along with his reading glasses. A slip pocket at the back of the main compartment provides safe and secure wallet storage. His standard size phone fit perfectly in the front zip pocket. The adjustable strap can easily be converted for wearing on the right or left shoulder. Like other bags in Sherpani's AT collection, the Metro has a chair loop lock to provide security when sitting in busy areas. GREAT TIP: He used a small carabiner (purchased separately) to "lock" the main compartment zipper pulls, rather than fussing with the red claw clip inside.

Great Day Pack for a Teen
Quickly converts from a sling pack to a mini backpack

Wayfarer
Our daughter wanted the option to wear her daypack as a backpack in less crowded areas. Although the Wayfarer is not in Sherpani's Anti-Theft collection, it does have enough great security features to make it a solid choice for travel, including RFID protection on the front panel and a locking front zipper. To "lock" the zipper on the main compartment, my daughter simply hooked the keyleash's claw clip to the zipper pull- intelligent! She fit her 24 ounce Owala water bottle inside (!!) the large interior pocket, and she used the exterior water bottle pocket (which was too small for the Owala) for her handheld accordion fan. Her Sherpani Barcelona Wallet fit snugly in the organizer within the front pocket, along with her phone.

Pretty Good Carry-On
(But too big to fit under the seat in front of you!)

Boston AT
For my airplane carry-on, I brought my Boston AT. I've used this compact duffel for several overnight trips, and it has worked well for a change of clothes and some essentials. I was hopeful it would fit under the seat in front of me on the plane, but it did not. (It did, however, stow easily in the overhead compartment.) I used the removable zipper compartment on the bottom to store a change of clothes and things I wouldn't need access to during my flights. In the main compartment, I fit my travel pillow and eye mask, books, snacks, charging cords and adapters (next review), and my quart size bag of liquids. I packed a lot into this bag! It was a little awkward to carry through the airport (a roller bag or backpack is more comfortable), but easy access to items in-flight and during layovers more than made up for this. And once I retrieved my checked bag, the Boston rested easily on top thanks to the luggage pass through strap.

Simple Storage
Corral your cords, eyeware, toiletries, or...?

Sherpani
Mini Co-Pilot
This bag organizer easily has a dozen uses, whether in your checked luggage, carry-on, or day pack. With elastic loops, slip pockets, and one zippered pocket, it worked great for keeping my cords and adapters organized inside my Boston duffel. (It wasn't quite big enough to hold my EU adapter plug, but those are pretty bulky!) This case has a sturdy enough structure that it could also be excellent for storing eyeware, especially if you have both glasses and sunglasses, and you would likely have enough room for a cleaning cloth and small repair kit, too. I've used this organizer previously on short trips to hold my overnight toiletry essentials. It would also make a great pencil case/backpack organizer, or...?
